Located on E. 61st in Manhattan, the Joseph I Lubin House is the home for Syracuse University's New York City operation. The townhouse, nestled among City landmarks such as Central Park, The Pierre Hotel and Barney's New York, houses both a full time staff of nearly 20 professionals and provides University employees and faculty overnight accommodations while in town on University business.
Central to the House's offerings is the Louise and Bernard Palitz Art Gallery located on the second floor. As an extension of SU Art Galleries, the Palitz Gallery offers SU a unique opportunity to to extend its cultural exhibitions into New York City and the chance to serve the interests of both its alumni population and the greater cultural community in the City.
The House is home to a wide array of programs and events including alumni gatherings, industry discussion panels and art exhibits. In addition, many of SU's academic programs take advantage of utilizing the University's NYC headquarters while professors and student groups are in the area.
The Lubin House also serves as a great resource for future Syracuse University students though the presence of a regional admissions office. This team hosts numerous college workshops for both high school students and their parents, information sessions about the University and conducts admission interviews with local applicants.
Additionally, regional development and marketing staff members are located here.
