Syracuse Architecture NYC Possible Mediums Reception
Nov 11, 2014
On the evening of November 7, Syracuse Architecture NYC, located at SU's Fisher Center in Manhattan, hosted a gallery reception to celebrate Possible Mediums, a project that showcases design investigations that utilize unavailable platforms and/or tools in the field of architecture. Dean Michael Speaks was joined by dozens of current and former students and faculty – among the crowd were students who traveled from Syracuse to attend. Possible Mediums includes works by faculty from Syracuse Architecture, as well as other faculties from other universities, and features text and drawings from a forthcoming book which is the latest phase of the project. The ongoing project has been punctuated by conferences, exhibitions, and workshops at various academic institutions of higher learning. A day-long symposium was held on Saturday, organized by Dean Speaks, comprised of presentations and discussion regarding the ambitions of the project in relation to the current state of the discipline.
