March 29, 2013
Continuing its mission as a two-way street, Syracuse University embraced the Onondaga Nation and its Two Row Wampum campaign. More the 350 people attended the New York City event including Chancellor Nancy Cantor.
Sharing the River of Life: Honoring Native Treaties and Protecting the Earth was held at the Smithsonian National Musuem of the American Indian, also the event partner. The campaign works to raise awareness of native treaties and protection of the earth and marks the 400th anniversary of the Two Row Wampum Treaty, the first treaty between Native Americans and Europeans.
