Stone Canoe: A Literary Showcase

Scott Mcdowell

It has become a welcome addition to Lubin House programming to play host to various literary events throughout the year. In October we welcomed Robert Colley, associate dean at SU's University College and the editor of Stone Canoe, who organized Stone Canoe: A Literary Showcase.

Four authors shared their works during the course of this particular evening. Pulitzer Prize winner Henry Allen; journalist Harriet Brown; the former New York Times' Ethicist columnist Randy Cohen; and Charles Martin, a three-time Pulitzer Prize nominee. Those in attendance were exposed to some great works ranging from the humorous to the heartwrenching and would be quick to point out, there was never a dull moment from the talented group of authors.

Stone Canoe is SU's newest arts and literary journal and has enjoyed remarkable critical and popular success highlighting the work of writers and artists with a current or historical connection to Upstate New York.
