Lubin House Staff
Executive Director, Operations and Stewardship
A Syracuse University alumna, Patti Dombrowski is responsible for maintaining the Lubin House facilities. She started her SU career in the Office of Development and continues to play a stewardship role with alumni in the metropolitan area. A native of Syracuse, she has worked for the University since 1987.
Executive Director for Advancement
Stephanie Cook leads the Advancement team in the Metro New York region and is charged with building more and better relationships with Syracuse alumni, parents and friends with the goal of securing resources to further the mission of Syracuse University. She serves as the University’s lead fundraiser in NYC and coordinates the overall fundraising strategy for the region with colleagues in New York and on campus. Prior to joining Syracuse University she worked in a similar capacity for Villanova University, served as a fundraiser at Columbia University and supported the fundraising efforts of the Wildlife Conservation Society and the Central Park Conservancy. She is a native of Madison, Wisconsin and holds degrees from the University of Kentucky and Columbia University in theatre and fundraising and non-profit management.
Director of Development
Rob joins the Lubin House Advancement team as a Director of Development focused on building deep and meaningful philanthropic relationships with alumni, parents and friends of Syracuse University in the tristate region. Prior to joining SU, Rob served as the Director of Development for Athletics at Fordham University. Rob has also served as a major gifts officer at Barnard College of Columbia University and gained regional experience as a remote major gifts officer for Oberlin College based in NYC. He graduated with an economics degree and two school records in baseball from Oberlin. Rob lives on the UES with his wife Danielle and dog Shea.
Delita Marsland serves as a Director of Development for Syracuse University’s Metro New York region. Her focus is to engage alumni, parents and friends in philanthropic initiatives that will help advance the mission of Syracuse University. Prior to joining SU, Delita served in leadership roles at Vassar College, Emory University’s Carter Center, and Georgia State College of Law. She is a native of Rockland County and currently resides in Westchester. Delita received a B.A. in Public Communication from the State University of New York College at Buffalo and spent a year studying at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California, as part of the National Student Exchange Program.
Associate Director for Development
Tim Paul serves as an Associate Director for Development on Syracuse University’s advancement team in New York City. He is a part of an expanded team of gift officers working in the NY Metro region to enhance relationships with alumni, parents, and friends in order to help secure the future of Syracuse University through philanthropic support.
Prior to joining the team at SU, Tim was the Assistant Development Director for Intercollegiate Athletics and the Newark College of Engineering at NJIT. Before NJIT, Paul was a Special Gifts Officer for the University of Buffalo School of Management, where he worked closely with graduates of UB living in the NY Metro region. Tim is a native of New York, born in Brooklyn and raised in Plainview, Long Island. He received his B.A. in history from the College of Mount Saint Vincent. He currently resides in Red Bank, NJ with his wife Rachelle.
Executive Director of Regional Strategic Communcations, New York
Scott McDowell works with SU’s regional offices to develop and implement an overall strategic communications plan that is consistent with the University’s priorities promoting its brand. These areas include New York City; Washington, D.C.; Atlanta; Los Angeles; and Dubai. Scott also handles PR for the Cold Case Justice Initiative at SU’s College of Law, as well as for the Tepper Semester program, now based at the Fisher Center. Prior to joining the University, McDowell worked in broadcast journalism for several years, including for TV stations in Buffalo and Rochester, New York, and Northern New Jersey.
Executive Director, Alumni Engagement
As Executive Director, Alumni Engagement Pam works closely with the Office of Alumni Engagement, the Metro New York Lubin House Regional Advancement and the event teams, to create and implement alumni engagement activities and special events for Syracuse University alumni, donors, parents, friends, current students, and prospective students of the University.
Pam has been involved in volunteer leadership with Syracuse University for a decade. She was President of the Central New Jersey Syracuse University Alumni Club, serves as an Alumni Admissions Representative, and was the Vice President of the Syracuse University Alumni Association Board of Directors and Chair of the Board’s Philanthropy Committee.
Mulligan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Television, Radio, and Film Management from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a dual degree in Political Science from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. During her tims on campus she was involved in many clubs and societies.
Pam practiced law for the past 10 years with prominent regional law firms. Prior to her law career, Pam served as a Media/Marketing Executive for over 15 years serving commercial and non-profit clients, including media and entertainment companies, financial institutions, professional organizations, and trade associations.
Engagement and Marketing Coordinator
As an Alumni Engagement and Marketing Coordinator, Andy is responsible for coordinating all regional marketing activity including social media, the design and execution of event invitations, coordination of regional newsletter, and updating and maintaining the nyc.syr.edu website. He is also responsible for assisting with scheduling, coordinating engagement programming, providing staffing and logistical support to events in the Metro NYC area.
Prior joining his alma mater (Class of 2015: Broadcast & Digital journalism, S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a dual degree in Information Management Technologies, School of Information Studies), Andy worked at Major League Baseball Advanced Media in their Social Media and Product Development departments. He also covered Syracuse University Athletics for the SB Nation and Bleacher Report's Syracuse blogs.
Senior Director, New York Programs and Events
Maureen Ferry plans and oversees all metro New York events, including those at Lubin House and other venues in the area. Prior to joining t
he University, she worked in non-profit fundraising as the director of special events for The Horticultural Society of New York and The
American Associates of the Royal Academy of Arts in NYC. She graduated from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, with a BA in
Aly Mason servers as Events Manager for Lubin House and is responsible for booking and handling all event details, including catering, for meetings, evening programs and special events held on-site. She graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Hospitality Management and a minor in Marketing. It was during her time at SU that she found a love for event planning and upon graduation joined the Special Events department at the Garces Group in Philadelphia.
Director of Global Partnerships
Amparo Silva is responsible for coordinating recruitment efforts and admissions projects in the New York metro area, the Caribbean, and Latin America. She facilitates presentations, panels, seminars, and workshops for students and parents on issues related to college selection, admissions, and the financial aid process in English and Spanish. She has also published numerous articles on educational issues, including articles in El Diario La Prensa and Novedades Latinas.
Associate Director of Admissions for NYC Metro Area, Long Island and Westchester
Asma Malik is the Associate Director of Metropolitan, Long Island, and Westchester admissions programs at Syracuse University. Asma Malik is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of recruitment, admissions, and financial aid activities in the prospective areas. Prior to SU, she was the Director of Enrollment Management for Long Island University, the Senior Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Counselor Relations at NYU, and the Assistant Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at NYU Abu Dhabi. Asma is a native of New York, born and raised in Queens, and currently resides in Long Island. She received her B.A. in Education/B.S. in Biology from CUNY Hunter College and her M.A. from New York University in International Education with a focus on Higher Education.
Assistant Director of Metropolitan Admissions
Jaclyn Hall is the Assistant Director of Metropolitan Admissions at Syracuse University. She is responsible for guiding students through the college application process by connecting with college offices and implementing admissions programs within the five boroughs of New York City. As an alumna of Syracuse University’s School of Education, Jaclyn served as a Transfer Admissions Counselor at Marymount Manhattan College and as Assistant Director of Admissions at Wagner College before returning to Syracuse.
Assistant Director of Admissions for Long Island and Westchester
Lori Messina is the Assistant Director of Admissions for Long Island and Westchester. She is responsible for recruitment and applications. She is a 2014 graduate of Syracuse University, School of Education with a major in Selected Studies of Education and a double minor in psychology and social work. She received an M.S in School Counseling from Long Island University, Post. Prior to working at Syracuse University, Lori Messina worked as an interim school counselor in two districts on Long Island, one as a middle school counselor and one as a high school counselor. Lori was born and raised on Long Island and currently resides there.
Billing and Overnight Rooms Manager
Andrew Levy is responsible for the billing of administrative expenses, in-house events and functions, as well as the reservation process of overnight rooms. He began working at Lubin House in 2010, filling in at the front desk and in various administrative roles. He graduated from Newhouse in 2007 and holds a master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University. He spent two years as a high school substitute teacher and coach in New Jersey, and a year student teaching in New York City public schools. Andrew is passionate about all things Orange, and spent three years as a student manager for the Syracuse Men’s Basketball team.
Front Desk Receptionist
A recent graduate from Newhouse School of Public Communications at SU, Michael Pizzano currently serves as the face of Lubin House for guests that include visiting faculty, faculty and alumni.
Jolanta Niwelt began her career as the housekeeper at Lubin House in 1998 and was promoted to Events Assistant in 2006.
Oscar Mendez started with Lubin House in 1993 as a custodian and was promoted to building superintendent in 2002 after renovations were completed. Through his years on the job, Oscar has acquired skills in plumbing, electrical, computers and a/v.
Ewa Niwelt is the Housekeeper for the overnight rooms at Lubin House. Ewa also helps out with event set up and clean up. Previously, she worked as a dental assistant.
Front Desk Evening Office Assistant
Juan Williams has been our Front Desk Evening Office Assistant at Lubin House since 2002. His educational background is in Theatre and Dance, Secretarial Arts, Accounting and Business Management. He has also worked on Capitol Hill.
Admissions Office Coordinator
Donna DiFilippo assists the Director and Associate Director in the planning, coordination, and implementation of recruitment and admissions activities conducted in the New York Metropolitan area. Also has some collaborating and coordinating responsibilities for activities that the Metropolitan Office of Admissions sponsors with other offices and departments. In her role, she can proudly boast that she is the primary intake for admission inquiries that come to the Lubin House.
