    Syracuse Architecture NYC

Becoming an architect requires more than learning in the classroom and design studio. It requires visiting cities and buildings to gain firsthand knowledge of how design shapes our world.

Syracuse Architecture NYC is a semester-long program that taps into the resources of one of the great design centers of the world. Modeled on the School of Architecture’s successful study-abroad programs in Florence and London, this immersion provides upper-level architecture students with an invaluable studio experience under the leadership of a visiting critic who is also a highly regarded NYC architect. Past critics include Joshua Prince-Ramus, Marc Tsurumaki, and Gregg Pasquarelli.

Students also take courses that focus on the city’s history, urban morphology, planning, real estate development, and urban theory. Integrated with this experience are guest lectures, collateral programming and an extensive field trip itinerary, offering budding architects numerous opportunities to learn from some of the world’s best architects and study contemporary architectural and urban design issues unique to New York City.
