THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN: Martin McDonagh's comedy examines an ordinary coming of age in extraordinary circumstances. Directed by Michael Grandage and starring Daniel Radcliffe. Excitement ripples through the sleepy community of Inishmaan when a Hollywood filmmaker arrives in 1934 to shoot a movie on the neighboring island of Inishmore. Whitman NYC Alumni Club presents a screening of Money For Nothing

Money For Nothing
Whitman NYC Film Screening: Money For Nothing - Inside the Federal Reserve

Money For Nothing is a feature-length documentary about the Federal Reserve - made by a Team of AFI, Sundance, and Academy Award winners – that seeks to unveil America’s central bank and its impact on our economy and our society.

Current and former senior Fed officials, prominent economists, investors and traders provide unprecedented access and take viewers behind the curtain to debate the future of the world’s most powerful financial institution.

Digging beneath the surface of the 2008 crisis, Money For Nothing is the first film to ask why so many facets of our financial system seemed to self-destruct at the same time. For many economists and senior Fed officials, the answer is clear: the same Fed that put out 2008’s raging financial fire actually helped light the match years before.

In 1976, an unknown actor wrote and starred in an independent movie about a strugglingbut indomitable Philadelphia boxer who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to go the distance. An underdog story both on-screen and off, Sylvester Stallone's Rocky went on to win the Academy Award® for Best Picture and touch the hearts of millions. Now, that iconic
film has inspired an innovative new stage production, brought to extraordinary life by a five-time Tony Award®-winning creative team, including director Alex Timbers (Peter and the Starcatcher), book writer Thomas Meehan (The Producers) and songwritingteam Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime). Both an adrenaline-infused spectacle and a surprising tale of blossoming romance between two lonely outsiders, ROCKY is a visceral
and heart-stopping theatrical experience for everyone brave enough to follow their dream.
