“The Way Out: MFA 2014” Opening Reception

    Thursday, May 22, 2014
    6 p.m.

    Rogue Space
    508 West 26th St., 9th Floor
    New York, New York

Join us for the opening reception of “The Way Out: MFA 2014.” The annual master of fine arts exhibition includes 21 artists working in a variety of media, including painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, film and site-specific installation.

The artists in “The Way Out” reinterpret traditional media into a contemporary context. Painting and drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography and film—all familiar instruments in the foundation of art making—have been introduced in a fresh milieu of concept and craft. Oil on canvas partnered with documentary video; works on paper that combine printmaking, drawing and painting; and site-specific installations of ceramic sculpture and photography are fused with both familiar and previously unexplored concepts that range from notions of gender, family and place to abstract narratives and sensory interaction.

The exhibition runs May 22–24. Exhibition hours are Thursday–Saturday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m., with an opening reception on Thursday, May 22, at 6 p.m.

The opening reception and exhibition are free and open to the public. Complete information and related programming is available by visiting the official exhibition website.
